Not Quite Dead Volume Two almost done!

Ok, so I have very nearly completed the next volume of Not Quite Dead. I'll try my hardest to get it done in time for the next Bicycle Bazaar, then I'll put it up on the store for whoever actually comes here.

But yeh, the next Bicycle Bazaar is on the 28th, so literally two days away now, so yeh, you should try to be there!

New Comic!

Ok, so those few of you who have seen me at the last couple of Bicycle Bazaars may know that I have a new comic available. A non-TiN comic, with a running storyline, and full (A5) pages of comics. It's going in the shop pretty much as soon as I'm done writing this, so yeh, that'll be cool.

It's basically about this guy who's realised he's a werewolf, who finds a vampire and a centaur who may be able to help. Except, ofcourse, things are never that easy, and stuff gets in the way. It's funny, trust me. Or atleast, trust the 8 people who bought every copy I had.

So yeh, Not Quite Dead: Volume One will be in the store page very soon.

Finally Updated!

OK! I finally put "Subjective Measurements" and "Parody Proppellant" up in the store! Just in time for me to be in the process of bringing out a new TiN zine. So yeh, those are up. When I start selling the new one at the Bicycle Bazaar, then I'll get it up here.

Also, another new thing since I last updated, "This is Normal" now has a Facebook page. Check it out and like it!

So yeh, enjoy!

Must Update More

Gah, I need to get round to updating this more often! The to-do list just keeps growing.
Things I need to add to the store:
- "Subjective Measurements" - a This is Normal zine.
- "Parody Proppellant" - another This is Normal zine.
- "Mad Wally" t-shirt - may have trouble with copyright, so I'm not sure I really want to have this one up here.
- "Here's Wally" badge - again, may have troubler with copyright.

And I'm pretty sure the front page could be improved. Anyway, now that I've made those public, maybe it'll encourage me to actually get on with them.

New "This is Normal"

So yeh, I'm gonna be bringing out a new "This is Normal" book soon, probably shortly before the next Bicycle Bazaar that I'm going to, which will be on the 27th November, at the Fishmarket, here in Northampton. It's gonna be called "Parody Propellant", and will feature loads of cartoons that take the mick out of stuff, from implied Star Wars references, to dragons and flying shells. So yeh, keep an eye out for that.
Also, there's a new design that I sold at the last Bicycle Bazaar that I went to that I need to upload to the store, and give you all an opportunity to buy, although I may have a little trouble with copyright, so I'm not sure whether or not I really will be able to sell it online or not. Or atleast, sell it online without getting sued by the creators of "Where's Wally?"
Another thing, I know I still have to upload the third badge design, but I'm thinking that if I create a fourth badge design, then it'll probably be worth selling them all together in a single badge pack, probably for about £1.20. So that'd be 30p a badge, rather than the 50p it is at the moment, and since it'll all be one item, less postage for you to pay as well!
I'm also considering making some sort of graphic novel, or comic book or whatever, but at the moment I don't really have a solid idea that I know I'm going to stick to, so yeh, that's just a maybe for now.

Not Going, Sorry

So yeh, turns out I'm not gonna be at the next Bicycle Bazaar. Or atleast, I'm not going to be selling anything. Why? Cos I didn't get my act together and get some new stock in. So yeh, I'm slightly annoyed by that, but my head's been full of 6th Form stuff recently, so that's been pulling on my attention more than the Bicycle Bazaar. If anyone was going to look for me and try and find me at the Bicycle Bazaar, I'll probably show up at some point, but I won't be selling stuff.
So yeh, not going, sorry, my bad.

Long Overdue Update

Wow, I really need to update here more often. Ok, well, the last Bicycle Bazaar, there was a bit of a mix up, and they'd moved back into the Fishmarket without actually telling anyone, even though they'd made the decision on the Thursday before, which gave them two whole days to let us know.
Anyway, those of you who follow my webcomic will know that it's currently in the third part of the second Humans vs Zombies storyline. Yeh. That's all I've got on that one.

And now for something completely different...

So, last Bicycle Bazaar, I brought out a new t-shirt design, which is a shame because I hardly sold anything. Oh well. Hopefully that'll change at the next event, the Sunday Arts Market, this Sunday on the 5th September. I'll get this design up ASAP so that you can see and buy it online, but until it's up, you'll have to let your curiousity (ha!) fester a little longer.
Which reminds me, I STILL need to get that third badge design up. Sorry I don't update more.

Update!

Ok, I'm back and finally updating this thing. Well, the Bicycle Bazaar went really well, and the Arts Market went spectacularly! Great events, thanks to everyone who turned up and bought something, and thanks to the guys at the Fishmarket, Northampton and the Northampton Borough Council for organising those!
We almost completely sold out of the "Never Trust A Smiling Penguin" designs, except for a medium, an XL and an XXL. Man, part of me still can't quite believe that it went as well as it did.

So, yeh, sorry it took so long to update, the day after the Arts Market I was whisked away on holiday with my family with minimal internet access, so I couldn't update.

Oh, and I'm now 16. Woo hoo! I can now legally get liver damage and throw money away via the lottery...

New Book!

It's two days until the next Bicycle Bazaar outside All Saints, and three until the next Arts Market on the Market Square, so I figure I should probably give you a new reason to get down there and buy stuff, other than it being cheaper for you because of P&P, so I'd like to announce the next "This is Normal" book of cartoons!
This one's called "Subjective Measurements", which basically means "guesstimating", and sums up my thought process on how funny each of my cartoons is, and it is the only thing I can do when it comes to trying to work out how well a Bicycle Bazaar or Art Market is gonna go. Either way, both events are good and fun, and you should be there.

I'll put the book in the webshop when I get back from holiday on the 7th/8th August.

Stuff This Month

Ok, here's a list of things that I'm doing this month that pretty much anyone can come along and join in, and in fact, I would encourage you to join in if you want or are able to.

Saturday 17th - Flashmob on Abington Street. Ok, basically, if you're in Northampton Town Centre this Saturday, then up right at the top of Abington Street (the top being where Crazy Udder is), you'll be able to see/take part in the latest attempt at getting a good flashmob. What it involves is that at the beginning of the flashmob, someone (I've been roped into doing this) will walk towards the DNA statue holding a box of chalks. What everyone has to do is come get a chalk, and spend a few minutes drawing on the floor. Then when a whistle goes, everyone just gets up and walks away.
Although I would appreciate getting the chalks back.
Sunday 18th - London Film & Comic Con. Before anyone jumps to any conclusions, no, I don't have a stall at the convention, I found out about it way too late to sort that out. But it will be awesome. Why? Because 3/4 of the people behind Explosm.net and the webcomic that's hosted there are going to be at this con, and this is likely to be my only chance to meet them until I've saved up enough money to go to the San Diego Comicon in America.
So yeh, this is gonna be at 2 Earls Court (or Earls Court 2, as they seem to be calling it), and the tickets aren't available anymore I don't think. So yeh, I probably could've done with mentioning this earlier, but oh well.
Monday 26th - Humans vs Zombies at Harlestone Firs. Yeh, those of you who've read my webcomic will know about HvZ and how it works, but for those who haven't and don't, it is essentially, a game of tag, with zombies and Nerf guns. Zombies wear a coloured band (a tie) around their head, and humans wear one around their arm. Zombies turn humans into zombies by tagging them, and humans can stun zombies for 5 minutes by shooting them with a toy dart blaster, or throwing some other soft item (rolled up socks, stress ball) at them. It's pretty freaking awesome, and the next game is at Harlestone Firs, Northampton, starting at 10am. Be there!
Saturday 31st - Bicycle Bazaar outside All Saints Church. Yeh, due to an installation at the Fishmarket at the moment, the next two Bicycle Bazaars are outside of the Fishmarket, and the next one's gonna be outside of the big All Saints Church, near the Market Square in Northampton. So yeh, if you want to get your hands on some stuff that I have here on the site without the post and packaging charges, then come on down then.
Sunday 1st August - Arts Market/Blink Festival. Ok, I know, not technically this month, but still worth mentioning, I'm going to be at the Arts Market on the Market Square, Northampton, which is on the same day as this Blink summer festival thing that's being backed by the guys at the Fishmarket. So yeh, it's gonna be good, no matter whether you're there for the Art or for the music or whatever else is on, I'm gonna have my stall there, and it's hopefully gonna go well.

So, yeh, there's a whole steaming pile of stuff that's going on this month, and feel free to tag along and be a part of it!

Sunday Arts Market Aftermath

Well, today went really well! I got set up at 10, and since my dad couldn't to stay to help out, I had help keeping the stock on the stall from a friend of mine called Maisie (her DeviantArt is here). And the wind didn't make that job particularly easy. Well, atleast none of our stock was expensive prints in frames with glass covers that got knocked over and smashed by the wind (I still feel kinda sorry for that guy).
So yeh, the day started slow with practically no one around our part of the Arts Market, and selling only a single badge before 12. We kinda figured it'd be a bit of a slow start, so not all hope was lost.
But beyond those few annoying people, it was fairly steady going, with some good sales, and it never really felt too dull, although that was probably thanks to Maisie being there to help keep it entertaining with "YuGiOh Abridged" references.
Then at about 2ish, another friend of mine called Tasha (her DA account is here) rocked up, and we came up with the idea of using bubbles to try and attract attention to our stall and maybe encourage a couple more sales. It probably didn't work, but it was funny watching all the bubbles blow straight into Maisie's hair. :D
So yeh, all in all, a fun day out, and quite profitable too! We took in £50.50 in sales! :D That's pretty damn awesome! These events on the Market Square are worth doing!

Next stop, the July Bicycle Bazaar on 31st July! (The day after my birthday!)

June Bicycle Bazaar Aftermath & Arts Market

Well, yesterday went pretty well all in all. It wasn't like last Sunday, which, despite the amazing turn around at the end, was, on average, not enjoyable at all. Yesterday's Bazaar went pretty well with a steady flow of people buying stuff throughout the day. It's definitely good to see t-shirts becoming popular. We need to sell fewer of those to start feeling good about the amount of money we take in.
I also have a poster that I need to get round to delivering to the people that bought it, since they didn't want to take it with them, I've kept it in reserve, and since it's the mum of one of my best friends, I know where to drop it off.
Anyway, I think I may have also generated a lot of interest in this site through leaflets, and people not quite ready to buy yet, so hopefully I'll have my first ever online order come through soon.
And also, I'm obliged to tell you that you can now get "Through the Moon", "HvZ: Blood, Sweat and Darts" from the Skulls and Robots shop in the Fishmarket! They're the same price as they are at the Bicycle Bazaar, so yeh, that's cool. Heheh, my comics are being sold in a shop! That's actually pretty awesome!

Also, I will be trying to get a stall at the next Northampton Arts Market, on the Market Square, which will be on Sunday 4th July. I don't have anything confirmed yet, but I'm just letting you know that if you wanted to get some of this stuff at the Bicycle Bazaar price, and you're in town that day between about 10 to 3, you may be able to catch me there.
I'm gonna try calling the number later today to get a place, but I still need to get more blank shirts so I can restock them, and I need to print more of... Well, everything, really, but still, assuming all goes well, I should be able to do it.

Market Bazaar Aftermath

Yesterday's event was probably the most agonising Bicycle Bazaar's I've been to. For the first four and a half hours, we sold virtually nothing. We sold a single copy of "Through the Moon", and two badges. So in four and a half hours, we took in £2.50. The pitch fee was £10. The new t-shirts were £28. The ink for the printer wasn't cheap. For the first time ever, we were going to be making a loss. The "Imminent Motivation Failure" t-shirt had never seemed more appropriate than right then.
And then at about 2:30, one of my friends showed up, bringing with him a few people, and then :iconmazrielmoon: swung by, and suddenly we'd sold more t-shirts in an hour and 15 minutes than we had in the past two Bicycle Bazaars in the Fishmarket, we'd sold several more badges, and even 2 of the posters! It became fantastic! I still need to work out exactly what got sold in the end, but I was so ready to call it a disaster! It became our second best Bicycle Bazaar that me and my dad have done, selling, if you trust my dad's maths, over £45 worth of stuff in the last third of the day, where we'd made a total of £2.50 in the first two thirds!
I am so relieved about the whole thing, and thanks to everyone who showed up.

So, in light of all this, me and my dad will once again be attending the Bicycle Bazaar in the Fishmarket, next Saturday, usual time. Wish me luck!

BICYCLE BAZAAR TODAY!

Well, today is the day of the Bicycle Bazaar on the Market Square, here in Northampton, and soon, I'm going to be finishing up making the sign, and I'm going to head down there for about 10am. Technically it starts at 12, but to be honest, if you drop by at 11, I'm sure that'd be fine. We'll have everything that's available here in the store, plus This is Normal posters, that badge design I still haven't gotten round to uploading, and the latest "This is Normal" book, which is "Through the Moon".

After the Bicycle Bazaar today, I will try to get round to adding all the stuff to the store that up to this point I haven't gotten round to.

Also, if we didn't get rid of a huge amount of stuff this time around, I'll also be at the Bicycle Bazaar in the Fishmarket, next Saturday, so yeh, if you miss the chance today, there is that oppurtunity. Either way, wish me luck.

2/3 Badges Added

Ok, so I've uploaded 2 of the 3 badge designs that I have, but the third is on the wrong computer. Woops. I'll get that sorted out soon, and I've also realised that I have yet to upload the latest This is Normal book, which I'm gonna be selling at the next Bicycle Bazaar on Sunday 20th June on the Market Square, here in Northampton, between 12 and 4ish. In fact, I'm likely to be there as early as 10ish, so yeh.
Anyway, the new "This is Normal" book is called "Through The Moon", which takes it's title from Comic #86 on the actual TiN webcomic. I think that's the first time when a TiN book actually has it's title come from a comic. Really I should do that more often, but meh, it's all good.

Also, we've got the posters printed! We have 12 of them ready and waiting to be sold at, you guessed it, the Northampton Bicycle Basket Bazaar. So yeh, those'll be available for £3.50 if you can make it. And the same price if you can't, it's just that you'll have to wait until 17th July for them to be available again, unless we do the second Bicycle Bazaar this month which will be back in the Fishmarket.

New Shirt Added

Ok, so I still haven't put the badges up yet, but I have now put up the "Never Trust A Smiling Penguin" t-shirt, so that's now available in the store. So, yeh, a few things to do yet. Also, I'm thinking of getting some "This is Normal" posters printed. They'd only become available online on the day that the 200th This is Normal comic goes online, with is Saturday 17th July, but if I can get them printed, I'll be able to sell them at the Northampton Bicycle Bazaar this month, as a sort of exclusive deal.

Also, since I've broken up for exam leave, I'm thinking of doing more canvas artwork, provided I can get some good inspiration for it. Might even make one or two and put them up for sale. I am in need of some money right now, because there's this New York trip in February with the Sixth Form at my school, so I've gotta start saving up now. It's like, £600. That's roughly $1200, for any Americans that may be passing by. And it's also the price of 120 t-shirts. Yeh, I've got work to do yet, and maybe this stuff will help give me some money for the trip. Hopefully.

Actually... that's a damn good idea. I'll make it official.
All the profit I make from online sales will go towards a New York trip. Send me to New York, people! All it takes is to buy a t-shirt or a book!
Help me out! You know you want to!

Videos Added

Ok, having recently filmed a trailer for the next game of Humans versus Zombies, I figured, why not also show any film projects I've done. At the moment it's just two, but I'm hoping that it won't stay as just two. So, yeh. Hope you enjoy them.

Also, to make things easier, rather than introducing a whole new page for them, I just changed the Animations page to include the films. So now it's Animations and Films. Yeh, I know, real creative title. Best to keep things simple, though.

A Few Things

I just realised that I haven't uploaded the "Never Trust A Smiling Penguin" t-shirt, and the "Here's Wally" and  "Bond Villian Penguin" badge designs to the store. I'll get round to doing that as soon as I can, but it might be a little while.

Another thing, for the next Bicycle Bazaar, I'm bringing out a new This is Normal book, "Through the Moon". And if any of you wanted to buy a copy of the first TiN book, "Criminally Sane", then I'm afraid that ordering it off of the website is the only way you can get it now. At the BB on the 20th of next month, I'm also hoping that we'll have another t-shirt design, which uses a slight variation on the "Here's Wally" design I mentioned above. Should be good.

Also, I've installed a snazzy new clock on the front page, and a countdown to the next Bicycle Bazaar that I'm going to be at on the 20th June, which will be on the Market Square in Northampton. Normally, the Bicycle Bazaar takes place inside the Fishmarket, but this time it's going outside. I think me and my dad need to have more stock this time around, because we're gonna have a helluva lot more exposure, so we could potentially have our best Bicycle Bazaar yet! Hope I'll see you there.

Animations Sorted

Ok, I worked out a better way to display the animations now using my YouTube account to create a playlist. Some of the animations are a bit low quality, but that's because of the way that I got them from flash to a format I can stick on YouTube, using a screen capture program called Camstudio. It's reliable most of the time, but on slower computers it can be a bit laggy.

I'll probably sort out the laggy animations sooner or later, but for now they're ok.

We're up and running!

Ok, the site is pretty much sorted out, there's still one or two items left to be put into the store, and one more thing for the art gallery, and then I'll have to think what else I can do. I guess if I get enough interest in this, I could set up a guestbook or a forum for you guys, but I think that, as is at the moment is pretty good.

If I can, I'll try to work out a way of showing my flash animation on this website, as opposed to having to link to my Newgrounds submissions, so if/when I get that fixed, that'll make it much better.

Also, in other news, I'm gonna say now that I won't be at the May Bicycle Bazaar, Northampton, but that I will be at the next Bicycle Basket Bazaar on Sunday 20th June on the Market Square, and I will be selling all the stuff that's here, plus hopefully a couple of new badge designs, and a new t-shirt design. So if you're in Northampton that weekend, come to the market square, and check it out.
